I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics at the University of St Andrews and an external economist at the Bank of Canada. My research focuses on macroeconomic theory, financial economics, and monetary economics, and increasingly on technological change and the economic effects of AI.
I received my PhD from the University of Surrey in 2017, before joining the Bank of Canada as a Senior Economist. I joined St Andrews in 2021. I currently serve as an Associate Editor for the Scottish Journal of Political Economy, and am a Fellow of the Durham Institute of Research, Development, and Invention (DIRDI). I also co-convene the St Andrews Macroeconomic Research Cluster.
